To make an appointment

No longer need an appointment?

Please remember to ring and cancel any appointment you are unable to keep so we can offer it to someone else.We now operate a cancellation answerphone service available 24 hours/day 7 days/week which allows you to leave us a message to tell us if you do not need your appointment any more.

Our Appointment System

The Practice offers appointments between 08.00 and 18.00 Monday - Friday. Morning clinics run between 08.00 and 12.30 and afternoon surgeries between 13.30 and 18.00.

We also provide a limited number of clinics outside normal working hours (Extended Hours Clinics). Please click here for further details.

Our surgeries are divided into appointments that are booked up to 1month in advance, limited appointments that are bookable 1 week in advance and urgent appointments for the day.

We try, where-ever possible to enable you to see your doctor of choice. Please note however, that to see a named doctor you may need to wait longer than if you had no preference in which doctor you saw. This is because the doctors work differing numbers of sessions.

The GPs have instructed the office staff to ask for a brief reason for the appointment.  This helps us to make sure you are booked into the right appointment and may prevent you having a wasted journey (for example not all GPs provide joint injections, or you may need a double appointment with a Nurse for certain procedures)

Urgent Surgeries

We also have urgent surgeries running each morning and afternoon. These surgeries are for urgent problems only and if given an appointment for one of these surgeries, you may have to sit and wait depending on demand ad especially if the doctor is called ou of Practice to deal with a urgent request. To ensure clinical safety, these appointments are not limitless and we remind patients to please try not to abuse the system by using it for other problems that do not need to be seen that day or that yo may have had for some time. The doctor running the urgent surgery may refuse to see any problems that are not urgent. You are free to consult anyone in the Practice (doctor, advanced nurse practitioner, nurse, midwife, health visitor) that you feel may be able to help with your particular problem. We do feel it is only sensible, however, not to go to several different people with the same problem. Should you wish to only see a specific doctor you may have a longer wait to see them, particularly if the doctor in question works part-time.

Telephone Queries

We also offer the option for you to speak to a GP on the telephone. The GPs' phone lists are for quick queries so please do not request these if you may need a longer consultation. Due to the nature of surgeries, it is not possible to give a guaranteed callback time and phone calls may need to be prioritised according to clinical urgency and other surgery demands on that day. If you are advised the doctor will call you, please do ensure you leave your telephone switched on as this reduces the need for GPs to make multiple attempts to contact you.
