Our Appointment System

The Practice offers appointments between 08.00 and 18.00 Monday - Friday. Morning clinics run between 08.00 and 12.30 and afternoon surgeries between 13.30 and 18.00.

We also provide a limited number of clinics outside normal working hours (Extended Hours Clinics). Please click here for further details.

Our surgeries are divided into appointments that are booked up to 3 months in advance, appointments that are bookable 48 hours ahead and urgent appointments for the day.

We try, where-ever possible to enable you to see your doctor of choice. Please note however, that to see a named doctor you may need to wait longer than if you had no preference in which doctor you saw. This is because the doctors work differing numbers of sessions.

Urgent Surgeries

We also have urgent surgeries running each morning and afternoon. These surgeries are for urgent problems only and you may have to sit and wait depending on demand. You decide what is urgent but please try not to abuse the system by using it for other problems that do not need to be seen that day or that you have had for some time. The doctor running the urgent surgery may refuse to see any problems that are not urgent. You are free to consult anyone in the Practice (doctor, nurse, midwife, health visitor) that you feel may be able to help with your particular problem. We do feel it is only sensible, however, not to go to several different people with the same problem. Please note however, that should you wish to only see a specific doctor you may have a longer wait to see them, particularly if the doctor in question works part-time.

Please remember to ring and cancel any appointment you are unable to keep so we can offer it to someone else.

Telephone Queries

We also offer the facility for you to speak to a GP on the telephone. The GP's phone lists are for quick queries, such as test results, so please do not book these if you may need a longer consultation. Each GP has a phone list at different times on different days - please contact reception to find out about times and book a slot.
